Bryndlewood Gardens

We are a small family farm located just 4 miles from downtown Grand Rapids, MN. We grow in multiple high tunnel greenhouses & outdoor gardens, using sustainable practices, to provide clean grown produce (meaning completely chemical free!) to our customers. The high tunnels allow us to extend our growing season so we can offer a wide selection of fresh vegetables, plants, and cut flowers early and late in the year. We’ve been members of the Grand Rapids Farmer’s Market since 2012 and love to provide high quality, delicious, home-grown produce to our local community.

Gracefully Gourmet

Charlie and Tina Ladner launched Gracefully Gourmet in March 2023, inspired by their passion for cooking and a newfound fascination with mushrooms. Their friend Wade introduced them to Fantastic Fungi, which deepened their appreciation for fungi’s role in health and sustainability.

As they mastered cultivation, they quickly had more mushrooms than they could eat. To avoid waste, they joined the Grand Rapids Farmers Market, kickstarting their business in 2023. Today, they grow nine gourmet varieties, offering fresh mushrooms, including Chaga, Lion’s Mane, and Turkey Tail powders, plus Lion’s Mane capsules.

Mushroom growing is both a science and an art, requiring precise conditions. Their mushrooms are 100% organic, and they love educating customers on fungi’s superfood benefits.

For 2025, they’re expanding production, redesigning their mushroom house, and adding HUB boxes at Lincoln Park Farmers Market and Grand Rapids Farmers Market. They sold 500 lbs. in 2024 and now offer a restaurant menu to help chefs plan orders.

They would love to hire a seasonal worker and a housekeeper to help manage the workload. Tina explained, “It’s not hard work, but it’s a lot of work. My approach for 2025 is working smarter, not harder”.

Charlie and Tina love selling mushrooms at the farmers market. Every customer conversation reminds them how special fungi are, and they especially enjoy hearing people’s excitement as they share their favorite mushroom recipes!

With a cottage food license on the horizon, Gracefully Gourmet is just getting started!

Karl’s Bread

The roots of Karl’s Bread stretch back to the 1990s when Karl and his wife, Kristine, first had the idea of baking. By 2009, his family began selling their delicious artisanal loaves at the Tower Farmers Market, and since then, they’ve expanded to more farmers markets and county events, including the Grand Rapids Farmers Market, the Lake Superior Harvest Festival at Bayfront Festival Park, and Earth Fest in Virginia.

It all started as a team effort—Karl would mix dough after work and let it proof in the fridge overnight, while Kristine baked the loaves the next day. What began as a small venture selling bread to co-workers soon became a family business. Everyone pitched in, from brainstorming sales ideas to taste-testing and staffing market booths.

A few years ago, the family transformed Vince’s woodworking shop into a dedicated bake shop, where Karl’s mother, Sally, now plays a big role in prepping and baking bread. As their reach expanded, different family members headed to different markets, keeping the tradition alive across the region.

The inspiration for Karl’s Bread came from Karl’s “Uncle Charlie Jonas,” an artist and potter in Montana. Charlie’s artisanal bread and the incredible loavesvfrom Le Petit Outre Bakery in Missoula deeply influenced Karl’s passion for quality baking. Karl and Kristine’s Finnish heritage added another layer to their craft—growing up with traditional Finnish holiday breads like Pulla (or Finnish Biscuit) shaped their love for baking.

What started as Christmas gifts of homemade bread has grown into a legacy. Today, the Jonas family continues to pass on their craft, with the younger generation learning how to bake, package, and sell bread. From Sally’s cinnamon rolls and biscotti to the Sunday Sweet Rolls inspired by Karl’s time at Camp Warren YMCA, every loaf is a tribute to heritage, love, and family.
